내 체면을 구겨지게 한 사람들, 상처를 준 사람에게 감사하자. 의지를 단련시켜주기 때문이다. 나를 채찍질하는 사람들에게 감사하자. 잘못된 점을 바로 잡을 수 있게 해주기 때문이다. 나를 포기하는 사람에게 감사하자. 자립심을 배울 수 있게 해주기 때문이다. 나를 넘어지게 하는 사람에게 감사하자. 강하게 해주기 때문이다.

차이나 갓 탤런트 프로그램에서 우승한 류웨이는 열 살때 감전사고로 두 팔을 잃은 상태에서 찾아간 음악학교 교장의 “만약 댁의 아들이 피아노를 배울 수 있다면 나는 대통령이 될 수 있을 것입니다”라는 말에 화를 내기 보다는 감사했습니다. 에둘러 완곡하게 이야기 하지 않은 것이 더욱 분발하게 한 계기가 되었기 때문입니다.

| Description | English: Three Polar bears approach the starboard bow of the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Honolulu (SSN 718) while surfaced 280 miles from the North Pole. Sighted by a lookout from the bridge (sail) of the submarine, the bears investigated the boat for almost 2 hours before leaving. Commanded by Cmdr. Charles Harris, USS Honolulu while conducting otherwise classified operations in the Arctic, collected scientific data and water samples for U.S. and Canadian Universities as part of an agreement with the Arctic Submarine Laboratory (ASL) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). USS Honolulu is the 24th Los Angeles-class submarine, and the first original design in her class to visit the North Pole region. Honolulu is assigned to Commander Submarine Pacific, Submarine Squadron Three, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. |
