가을 초입 감기 걸리셨나요? 여름에서 가을로 넘어가는 날씨는 롤러코스트 같습니다. 주위에서 기침을 하거나 콧물을 훌쩍거리는 사람을 쉽게 볼 수가 있네요. 혹시 감기에 걸렸다면! ①따뜻한 물을 자주 마신다. ②꿀물이나 생강차, 모과차, 레몬차 등도 좋다. 특히 어린이에게 꿀물을 마시고 자는 것이 감기약보다 효과적이라는 연구결과가 잇따라 발표되고 있다. ③약은 가급적 종합감기약은 피하고 증세가 심할 때 그 증세를 누그러뜨리는 약만 이용한다. 특히 2세 미만의 아기에겐 꼭 필요한 경우에만 의사 처방에 따라 감기약을 복용시킨다. ④과로하지 말고 일찍 귀가해서 평소보다 일찍 잠자리에 들어 7시간 이상 푹 잔다. ⑤감기에 걸렸다고 특별한 음식을 먹을 필요는 없다. 혼합곡이나 현미에 나물을 곁들여 골고루 먹는 것이 좋으며 식욕이 없으면 죽을 먹는다. 고기류를 피할 필요는 없으며 닭죽도 좋다. 감기 초기에는 과일을 듬뿍 먹거나 비타민C를 복용하는 것도 좋다. ⑥술과 담배는 멀리 한다. 고춧가루에 소주 타서 마시면 좋다는 것은 ‘악마의 유혹’ 그 이상도, 이하도 아니다. ⑦감기약을 복용하면 졸음이 밀려오는 부작용이 있으므로, 감기약을 먹고 운전하지 않는다. ⑧식염수로 코세척을 한다. 한쪽 코를 막은 채 다른 코로 들이마신 다음 코 뒤로 넘겨 입으로 내뱉는 것을 되풀이하는 것. 초등학교 저학년 이하의 어린이는 식염수를 들이마시는 것이 쉽지 않으므로 콧속에 몇 방울 뿌려준다. 요즘에는 코세척을 하는 기구도 나와 있다. ⑨어린이는 중이염에 걸리기 쉬우므로 코를 막고 귀가 멍멍해질 때까지 코로 숨을 내쉬는 시늉을 하도록 시킨다. ⑩감기 증세가 3주를 넘기면 다른 병일 가능성이 크므로 반드시 병원을 찾도록 한다. 받은 글입니다.

Sundries: 지리산의 칡꽃차 어느 해 여름 지리산 문학모임에 갔을 때의 일입니다. 점심식사 후 딱히 마실 차가 없어 입이 심심하던 차에 버들치 시인으로 알려진 박남준 시인이 끓는 물을 종이컵에 붓고는 주변의 칡넝쿨 속에서 칡꽃을 손으로 훑어 컵 속에 띄워 내게 건네주는 것이었습니다. 꽃에서 우러나는 연보랏빛의 칡꽃차를 마시자 가슴이 다 환해졌습니다. 생각을 바꾸면 깊은 산중에서도 근사한 차를 마실 수도 있는데 우리는 너무 많은 고정관념에 사로잡혀 삽니다. 발상의 전환, 열린 생각이 세상을 바꾸고 행복한 삶을 가져다 줍니다. 칡꽃은 비가잦은 장마철에 피어 눅눅해진 우리의마음을 환하게 밝히는 꽃입니다. 넝쿨 속에 숨어 피어 찬찬히살피지 않으면 쉽게 눈에 띄지 않지만 자세히 보면 참 예쁜 꽃입니다. 어여쁜 당신 같은. 글.사진 - 백승훈 ' Sundries: 지리산의 칡꽃차 '에서 옮긴 글입니다.

Sundries: 좋은 행복, 해로운 행복 삶의 가치는 행복으로 말합니다. 그래서 행복은 무조건 좋은 거라고 생각하는데 그것도 어떤 종류의 것이냐에 따라 좋은 행복, 해로운 행복으로 나뉜다고 합니다. 미국 노스캐롤라이나 심리학과 교수팀의 연구결과에 따르면 우리 몸에는 '나쁜 행복'이 존재한답니다. 면역 조건이 동일한 80명의 성인을 대상으로, 사회적 교류나 성취감으로부터 오는 '목적지향적 행복'과 맛있는 것을 먹는 등 단순히 욕구를 채우는 것으로부터 오는 '쾌락적 행복'을 구분해 면역 세포에 차이가 생기는지 실험했답니다. 그 결과 쾌락적 행복을 느낀 사람들은 혈액 단핵구 세포에서 스트레스와 연관돼 면역력을 약화시키는 염증발현 유전자가 증가하는 반면, 목적지향적 행복은 이 유전자가 억제된다는 것을 확인했답니다. 정신적으로는 쾌락적 행복이든 목적지향적 행복이든 똑같이 느끼지만 신체는 어떤 행복감인지 이미 인지하고 달리 반응한다는 것이지요. 쾌락적 행복감을 가질 때 신체는 감정적이고 무의미한 열량 소모를 많이 한다고 합니다. 폭염과 열대야에 힘든 계절입니다. 그런데도 날씨 좋은 가을보다 독서량이 더 많다고 하는 통계를 보면 목적지향적 행복을 더 많이 느끼는 계절인 걸까요. 생각하기 나름, 이 여름도 얼마든지 즐겁게 보낼 수 있을듯 합니다. - 최선옥 시인 ' Sundries: 좋은 행복, 해로운 행복 '에서 옮긴 글입니다.
