An architect designs a building and once the design is complete, the building is constructed according to that design. The architect’s job is essentially done once the design is handed over. This suggests a static, one-time process. On the other hand, a sculptor starts with a raw block of material and continuously shapes it, chisels away at it, polishes it, and refines it until the final piece of art is revealed.
