열매가 아름다운 계절

아낌없이 바쳐라, 그리하면 그게 그대에게 되돌아오리라.

바야흐로 열매가 아름다운 계절입니다. 코스모스 꽃대를 간질이는 산들바람에 밤송이들은 잘 여문 아람을 쏟아내고 저녁노을에 취한 탐스런 감들이 가지 끝에 하나 둘 밀감빛 등을 켜기 시작합니다.

더위와 비바람의 여름을 견딘 나무들이 자랑처럼 매달고 있는 열매들을 볼 때마다 저 열매 한 알을 얻기까지 아낌없이 바친 나무의 시간들에 대해 생각하게 됩니다.

어쩌면 우리들의 삶이란 것도 저 열매를 달고 서 있는 나무들처럼 아낌없이 바쳐서 얻는 그 무엇이 아닐까요.

한 알의 사과가 저절로 붉어질 리 없듯이 쏟은 땀과 정성만큼 하늘은 우리에게 탐스런 열매를 되돌려줍니다.

설령 공들인 열정과 노력만큼 충분한 보상이 주어지지 않는다 해도 우리가 아낌없이 바친 열정의 시간들은 인생의 가장 빛나는 순간으로 남을 것입니다.
