사월이면 바람나고 싶다

사월이면 바람나고 싶다
바람이 나도 단단히 나서
마침내 바람이 되고 싶다

- 정해종의 시집 '우울증의 애인을 위하여' 중에서 -

4월입니다. 눈길 닿는 곳마다 꽃대궐을 이루는 눈부신 봄꽃들의 향기가 산들바람에 무장무장 실려오는 꽃 피는 봄날, 바람이 나도 단단히 나서 마침내 바람이 되고 싶다는 시인의 소망이 산봉우리에 피어오르는 예쁜 뭉게구름을 닮았습니다.

세상에서 가장 좋은 바람은 꽃바람이지요. 술 마시며 다투는 사람은 있어도 꽃을 보며 화를 내는 사람은 없으니까요. 봄가뭄 든 밭처럼 갈수록 팍팍해지는 현실이 답답하다면 바람에 실려오는 꽃향기 따라 꽃바람 한 번 쐬어보는 것도 괜찮은 일입니다.

마음 가득 꽃바람 부는 사월 지으시기를...

잘 살아가는 방법

꽃이나 새는 자기 자신을 남과 비교하지 않는다. 남과 비교하지 않고 자기 자신의 삶에 충실할 때 그런 자기 자신과 함께 순수하게 존재할 수 있다. 무엇이 되어야하고 무엇을 이룰 것인가. 스스로 물으면서 자신의 삶을 만들어가지 않으면 안 된다. 누가 내 삶을 만들어주는가. 내가 내 삶을 만들어 갈 뿐이다.

남과 비교하지 않겠습니다. 다만, 남의 삶과 내 삶이 어떻게 같고 어떻게 다른지 살펴보겠습니다. 그리고 왜 다른지, 그 다름의 이유를 살펴 내 살아가는 길에 참고하겠습니다. 내 삶은 내가 꾸려가는 것은 압니다. 그렇지만, 잘 살아온 사람, 잘 살아가고 있는 사람에게서 살아가는 방법을 배우겠습니다

또 다른 발전의 기회

우리는 익숙해진 생활에서 쫓겨나면 절망하지만, 실제는 거기서 새롭고 좋은 일이 시작되는 것이다. 생명이 있는 동안은 행복이 있다.

- 톨스토이 -

지금의 안위가 최고라 여겨지고 그것을 조금이라도 벗어나면 불안한 것이 사실입니다. 이 상태로 유지되거나 아니면, 더 나아지기를 바라는 것이 대부분의 마음일겁니다. 하지만 일상은 반복 속에서도 변화하고 때로는 전복되는 것이어서 불안은 가중됩니다.

그렇지만 그런 변화가 새로운 삶의 계기가 되고 또 다른 발전을 가져오는 기회라고 달리 생각하면 피할 일만은 아닙니다. 기회는 문을 여는 사람에게만 얼굴을 보여주니까요.

[삶의향기] “소중한 것과 중요한 것”

[삶의향기] “소중한 것과 중요한 것”

돈은 전혀 소중하지 않은 채 가장 중요한 자리에 놓여있다.

너무 중요한 나머지 소중하다는 착각을 일으키게 한다.

어느 샌가 소중했던 당신이 중요한 당신으로 변해가고 있다.

조금씩 덜 소중해지면서 아주 많이 중요해지고 있다. 반드시 필요하기 때문에 있어야 하는 존재가 아니라,

소중하기 때문에 필요해지는 존재가 되고 싶은 것은 당신과 나의 소망 이었다.

이 세상 애인들은 서로가 소중하지만 중요하지는 않다. 그렇기 때문에 소중함이 사라지고 나면 자신의 의지와는 상관없이 버려질지도 모른다는 불안이 있다.

이 세상 부부들은 서로를 중요하게 생각하면서 이미 소중하게 여기지는 않는다.

우리는 중요한 것들의 무게 때문에 소중한 것들을 잃는 경우가 많다.

중요한 약속과 소중한 약속 사이에서 끊임없이 갈등하며 중요한 약속에 몸을 기울이고 만다.

소중한 존재는 그 자체가 궁극이지만, 중요한 존재는 궁극에 도달하기 위한 방편이다.

소중한 것들을 하나하나 버려가면서, 중요한 것만을 챙기는 삶이 보인다.

그 삶의 끝에서 우리가 짓게 될 표정과 결론은 너무 뻔하다.

말을 잘한다는 것

말을 잘한다는 것

말을 잘 하는 것과 말을 많이 하는 것은 다르다. 말하고 싶은 유혹을 떨쳐내고 입을 다물 줄 아는 사람이 매력적이다.

- 이병률의 '끌림' 중에서 -

참 말 많은 세상입니다. 목소리의 크기가 옳고 그름을 우선하는 듯한 사회 풍조 탓인지 말을 많이 하는 사람을 말 잘하는 사람으로 착각하기 쉽습니다. 하지만 말을 많이 하는 사람은 다변가이지 말 잘하는 달변가는 아닙니다.

말을 많이 하는 사람일수록 많은 실수를 하기 쉬운 법입니다. 자기 생각과 감정에 북받쳐서 마구 쏟아내는 말은 듣는 사람으로 하여금 감동을 주기보단 마음을 닫게 만들기 십상이지요.

정제되지 않은 말을 토해내기 보다는 차라리 말하고 싶은 유혹을 떨쳐내고 입을 다물어 침묵할 줄 아는 사람이 훨씬 매력적이게 마련입니다.
