선생님 : 예를 들면, '우리 담임 선생님은 김태희처럼 예쁘다'는 바로 비유법이에요.

그러자 한 학생이 손을 번쩍 들고 말했다.

학생 : 선생님, 제가 알기로 그건 과장법인데요….

한 외딴섬의 등대에는 남자 등대지기 홀로 살고 있었다. 어느날 우편집배원이 우편물을 배달하러 등대지기를 찾았다. 집배원은 한명 때문에 섬을 찾은 것에 짜증을 내며 불평을 했다.

'기껏 잡지 하나 배달하느라 배타고 꼬박 하루 걸려 이 섬에 도착했소. 이 점에 대해 어떻게 생각해요?'

그러자 기분이 나빠진 등대지기가 한마디했다.

'당신, 자꾸 투덜거리면 일간신문 구독할 거야!'

★ 바늘을 찌르는 절묘한 타이밍

목사의 설교 때마다 조는 남편의 버릇을 고쳐주려고 아내는 바늘을 준비해서 교회에 갔다. 남편이 졸 때마다 바늘로 찌를 생각이었다.

드디어 목사의 설교가 시작되었다.

목사 : 세상은 누가 창조했습니까?

그 순간 남편이 졸자, 아내가 바늘로 쿡 찔렀다. 남편은 깜짝 놀라 소리쳤다. '오! 하느님!'

목사 : 네, 그렇습니다.

설교는 계속되었다.

목사 : 우리 인간을 창조하신 분은 누구시죠?

다시 남편이 졸자, 아내는 또 바늘로 쿡 찔렀다.

남편 : 앗! 하나님!

목사 : 네 맞습니다. 그러면 아담과 이브 사이에 99명의 자손을 두고 이브가 아담에게 뭐라고 했죠?

바로 그 순간 남편이 다시 졸자 아내는 또 쿡 찔렀다. 그러자 남편은 아내가 계속 찔렀다는 것을 알고 소리쳤다.

'야! 너 자꾸 그 물건으로 찔러대면 확 부러뜨린다!'
