A policeman was interrogating three blondes who were training to become detectives. To test their skills in recognising a suspect, he showed the first blonde a picture for five seconds and then hid it.
"This is your suspect, how would you recognise him?"
The blonde answers, "That's easy, we'll catch him fast because he only has one eye!"
The policeman says, "Well...uh...that's because the picture shows his profile."
Flustered by this ridiculous response, he flashes the picture for five seconds at the second blonde and asks her, "This is your suspect, how would you recognise him?"
The second blonde giggles, flips her hair and says, "Ha! He'd be too easy to catch because he only has one ear!"
The policeman angrily responds, "What's the matter with you two?!? Of course only one eye and one ear are SHOWING because it's a picture of his profile!! Is that the best answer you can come up with?"
Extremely frustrated at this point, he shows the picture to the third blonde and in a very testy voice asks, "This is your suspect, how would you recognise him?" He quickly adds, "...think hard before giving me a stupid answer."
The blonde looks at the picture intently for a moment and says, "Hmmmm...the suspect wears contact lenses."
The policeman is surprised because he really doesn't know himself if the suspect wears contacts or not. "Well, that's an interesting answer... wait here for a few minutes while I check his file and I'll get back to you on that."
He leaves the room and goes to his office, checks the suspect's file in his computer, and comes back with a beaming smile on his face. "Wow! I can't believe it... it's TRUE! The suspect does in fact wear contact lenses. Good work! How were you able to make such an astute observation?"
"That's easy," the blonde replied. "He can't wear regular glasses because he only has one eye and one ear."
한 경찰관이 형사가 되기 위한 교육을 받고 있는 세명의 블론드 아가씨에게 질문하고 있었다. 용의자를 인식하는 기술을 테스트하기 위해, 그 경찰관은 첫번째 블론드에게 5초동안 사진을 보여주고는 감췄다.
"이게 당신이 찾을 용의자요, 그 용의자를 어떻게 인식하고 있나요?"
그 블론드가 대답했다. "그건 쉬워요, 우리들은 그를 곧 잡을 겁니다. 왜냐하면 그는 눈이 하나밖에 없으니까요!"
그 경찰관은 말했다. "이봐요...에....그 이유는 이 사진이 그 용의자의 프로필(옆얼굴 사진)이기 때문이오"
이런 바보같은 답변에 당황한 그는 두번째 블론드에게 그 사진을 5초동안 보여주고 질문했다. "이건 당신이 찾을 용의자요, 그 용의자를 어떻게 인식하고 있나요?"
두번째 블론드는 킬킬웃고는 머리카락을 휙 뒤로 제치고 말했다. "하! 그사람 잡기는 너무 쉬워요, 귀가 하나밖에 없으니까요!"
그 경찰관은 화를 내며 대답했다. "당신들 둘은 어떻게 된거요? 이 사진은 프로필이니 당연히 눈도 하나, 귀도 하나 밖에 안보이죠!! 이게 당신들이 최선을 다 해서 나온 답이요?"
이런 답변에 극도로 실망한 그는 세번째 블론드에게 그 사진을 보여주고 화난 목소리로 질문했다. "이건 당신이 찾을 용의자요, 그 용의자를 어떻게 인식하고 있나요?" 그는 재빨리 덧붙여 말했다. "바보같은 답변을 하기전에 잘 생각해봐요"
그 블론드는 잠시동안 그 사진을 빤히 들여다 보고는 말했다. "흠....그 용의자는 콘텍트 렌즈를 끼고 있습니다."
그 경찰관은 깜짝 놀랐다. 왜냐하면 자기도 그 용의자가 콘텍트 렌즈를 꼈는지 안 꼈는지 모르기 때문이다. "좋아요, 그건 흥미있는 답변이군요... 여기서 잠시 기다리면 내가 그 용의자의 파일을 체크해보고 되돌아 와 알려드리겠습니다."
그는 그 방에서 나와 자기 사무실로 간다. 자기 컴퓨터에 저장되어 있는 그 용의자의 파일을 검토했다. 그리곤 얼굴에 밝은 미소를 띠고 되돌아왔다. " 야! 믿을 수 없군요..사실이네요! 그 용의자는 정말 콘텍트 렌즈를 끼고 있습니다. 참 잘했어요! 어떻게 그렇게 예리한 관찰을 할 수 있지요?"
그 블론드가 대답했다. "그건 쉬워요, 그는 눈도 하나 귀도 하나이기 때문에 정상적인 안경은 끼지 못하니까요"
