아빠의 포옹 그리고 스킨십 '스킨십은 말보다 강하다.' 육체적인 접촉 없이 자란 아이들보다 안아 주거나 입맞춤을 해준 아이들이 훨씬 건강하게 자란다고 합니다. 아버지가 딸을 많이 안아 주는 것은 매우 중요합니다. 그들은 아빠의 품에 안겨 여성성을 키워 나갑니다. 아들은 아빠의 품에 안겨서 남성성을 키워 나갑니다. 토마스 카알라일은 "우주에는 성전이 하나뿐인데 그것은 인간의 몸이다. 인간의 몸에 손을 댈 때에 우리는 하늘을 만진다."고 말했습니다. - 김성묵 한은경의《고슴도치 부부의 사랑》중에서 - 아이들은 사랑을 먹고 자랍니다. 부모의 따뜻한 포옹과 스킨십은 아이들의 가슴을 덥혀주고 그 온기가 고스란히 세포 속에 남아, 그 아이가 자라면서 사랑이 고갈될 때마다 다시 되살아나 가슴을 덥히는 위력을 발휘합니다. 사랑이 담긴 부모의 손끝에 하늘 같은 아이들의 일생이 달려 있습니다. - 윗 글을 보고 적은 누군가의 글 중에서 - 아이를 키운다는 것... 키운지 얼마 안되고, 그나마 대부분 회사에 있느라 키웠다고 하기는 커녕 얼굴보기 힘든 날이 더 많았습니다. 아는 건 없지만 윗 글을 보며 떠오르는 생각들. 혹자는 윗 글 처럼 많이 안아주는게 좋다고 하고, 혹자는 그러면 의존적이 되므로 아이한테 오히려 안 좋다고 말하기도 합니다. 심지어 어떻게 키우느냐에 대한 '기술'에 있어서도, 혹자는 마음이 더 중요하다고 하고, 혹자는 마음은 전해질 수 없으니 기술이 더 중요하다고 말하기도 합니다. 물론 둘 다 중요하다가 정답이겠지만... 기술도 중요할 겁니다. 그러나 어른처럼 아이들도 똑같은 행동을 사람마다 받아들이는게 다르니 아이를 키우는데 있어 '기술적인 정답'을 찾기는 힘들겁니다. 그러나 부모의 진정은 언젠가는 알게 될테니, 아이를 진심으로 대하고, 사랑하는 만큼은 안아주는 게 좋으리라는 생각을 해 봅니다. 기술에는 정답이 없더라도 진심에는 정답이 있지 않을까요?
